The 75 mm field gun Type 95 ( Japanese 九五 式 野砲 , Kyūgo-shiki yahō ) was a field gun that was used by the Imperial Japanese Army in the Second Sino-Japanese War , the Japanese-Soviet border conflict and during the Pacific War from 1936 to 1945 was used. The designation Type 95 indicates the year the troops were introduced, the year Kōki 2595 or 1935 according to the Gregorian calendar.
history
The 75 mm field gun Type 95 was based on the 75 mm field gun Type 90 , but was lighter than this. However, the weight reduction was accompanied by a lower range of 10,700 m, which was around 3,000 meters below that of the Type 90 field gun. The muzzle velocity had also decreased, which gave the Type 95 less penetration than its predecessor. The type 95 replaced u. a. the 75 mm type 41 cavalry gun , which gave the mounted artillery a greater range when fighting targets.
The Type 95 field gun remained in service until the end of the war in 1945.
technology
