The 7 cm mountain gun was a Japanese mountain gun used by the Imperial Japanese Army in the First Sino -Japanese War and Russo-Japanese War .
history
From 1880 the Imperial Japanese Army wanted to produce its own guns. With Italian help, the army designed new 75 mm guns. Since the late 19th century steel in Japan a very expensive commodity was the was in making the gun barrel on bronze resorted.
During the First Sino-Japanese War, the 7 cm mountain gun was the most widely used cannon in the Japanese army. In the Russo-Japanese War 1904/1905, the gun was only used by reserve units.
