The A92 road ( English for ' A92 road ') is a trunk road in Scotland that connects Dunfermline with Stonehaven . It is one of the major highways in the Council Areas of Fife , Dundee , Angus and Aberdeenshire .

course

The A92 begins at the Halbeath roundabout on an exit of the M90 east of Dunfermline. It leads first in a northeasterly direction past Cowdenbeath and Kirkcaldy until the course of the road then bends north after about 17 km. After crossing Glenrothes, the A92 crosses the A91 running between Auchtermuchty and Cupar , which opens up large parts of the Council Area Fife , before gradually turning off in a north-easterly direction and crossing the Firth of Tay at Newport-on-Tay on the Tay Road Bridge . It crosses the opposite Dundee and then follows the coastline first in an easterly, then increasingly in a northeastern direction. It crosses the cities of Arbroath , Montrose and Inverbervie . South of Stonehaven, the A92 then joins the A90 , which has been following the same direction since Dundee, further away from the coast .
