Albrechtice v Jizerských horách (German Albrechtsdorf ) is a village with approx. 330 inhabitants in Okres Jablonec nad Nisou , Czech Republic .
The community is located in a side valley of the Kamnitz (Kamenice) between the mountain Špičák (Spitzberg) and Mariánská Hora (Marienberg) in the Jizera Mountains .
history
Albrechtsdorf was founded by the Des Fours family around 1670. Their name is derived from the heirs of the Morchenstern (Smržovka) rule .
The Marienberg (Mariánská Hora) district was established around 1700 . The legend tells that the name was derived from a statue of the Virgin Mary that was found when the foundation wall of the first property was being built.
In 1705 the Marienberger Bauden (Mariánskohorské Boudy) were added, whose residents mainly burned charcoal . Other sources of income were logging and agriculture. From the middle of the 19th century Albrechtsdorf formed a municipality in the judicial district of Tannwald . The First World War hit the lives of the community residents hard. Many men fell or were wounded, which made itself felt in the local economy. The Second World War and the subsequent expulsion of the German residents had worse consequences . Since the 1950s, the number of weekend buildings has grown; the number of permanent residents decreased.
Economic development
In the 19th century, the economic boom began with glass production . The huts in Antoniwald ( Antonínov ) and later in Albrechtsdorf supplied raw materials for local glass mills . At the end of the century Albrechtsdorf was one of the places with the most and best qualified grinders in the Gablonz district (Jablonec nad Nisou) . At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, the place was connected to the railroad. In 1975 a new slope with ski lifts was built. Today the biggest source of income is tourism.
Community structure
