Alpfahrt is a scattered settlement in the Fritztal in the state of Salzburg as well as a place of the municipality of Bischofshofen , in the district of Sankt Johann (Pongau) .

geography

The place is located about 10 kilometers northeast of St. Johann and east of the city of Bischofshofen .

The scattered Alpfahrt houses are located on the left shoulder of the valley at the foot of the Breitspitz  ( 1804  m above sea level ), a secondary peak of the Hochgründeckstock ( Alpfahrt in the true sense of the word, at about 820  m above sea level), on the Fritzbach (group of houses in the village Pöham ), and on the opposite slope on Donneregg  ( 1524  m above sea level ), which belongs to the southern roofing of the Tennengebirge . The Tauern Autobahn  (A10) passes there . The Hochgründeck belongs to the Salzburg Slate Alps , the Tennengebirge to the Northern Limestone Alps , so that the location is exactly on the border of the Central and Northern Alps . The village of Alpfahrt comprises around 50 buildings with around 150 inhabitants, 10 of which belong to Pöham.

The Alpfahrt location can only be reached from Pöham on Katschbergstrasse  (B 99). The farms Brunnach and Fritzgrub (Alpfahrt No. 4 and 3) on the Tauern Autobahn on the opposite slope can only be reached via the Römerweg supply route near Ellmauthal (up to the Pongau junction ), the Kraxenbichl and Egger houses (Alpfahrt 6 and 5) to the east only via Sonnhalb . The remote Niedermais inn (Alpfahrt 7) above these can only be reached from Dorfwerfen via Eulersberg . These few houses are the only ones in Bischofshofen that belong to the Tennengebirge north of the Fritzbach.

history

1620 the place is named with 16 houses. Originally the whole area with Winkl, Alpfahrt and Kreuzberg belonged to the parish of Werfen , only with the creation of the local communities in 1848/50 did the tax community Winkl come to Bischofshofen. The Urhöfe are Au (Alpfahrt Nr. 20), Aigen  (Nr. 11) and Helmberg  (Nr. 14), Stücklegg , as well as Radl  (Nr. 15) and Zinkerl  (Nr. 12) above. The Pöhamer parts developed around the Fritzmühle (Alpfahrt No. 2).

In the early 18th century, the entire area south of the Fritz was largely cleared, today the farms there are again grassland islands.
