Amy Morton (* 1958 - 1959 in Oak Park , Illinois ) is an American stage actress and director , through their theater work became known. As a film actress , she was best known for her portrayal of Mary Rowengartner in Rookie of the Year  (1993) and Diane Popovich in Biggest Friends  (2011).

Amy Morton was born in Oak Park , Illinois . She studied at Triton College and Clarke University in Dubuque , Iowa , but never graduated.

A core member of the Steppenwolf Theater Company ensemble since 1997, Morton has made the most stage appearances during her acting career in the Chicago theater scene.
