Andreas Geipl (born April 21, 1992 in Bad Kohlgrub ) is a German soccer player who has been active for SSV Jahn Regensburg since 2014 and is moving to 1. FC Heidenheim for the 2020/21 season.

career

Geipl moved in 2003 at the age of eleven from FC Bad Kohlgrub in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district to TSV 1860 Munich and since then has played in all of the Löwen youth teams. For the U17 and U19 of his club, he played in the B-Juniors and A-Juniors Bundesliga South / Southwest . In 2010/11 he and his team reached the semi-finals in the final round of the German A-Youth Championship . Geipl was team captain this season and, with seven goals in 22 appearances, played a key role in the team's success. Immediately afterwards he switched to the Munich regional league team , to which he was a member for a total of three seasons. After 13 appearances in his first season, he developed into a regular player. With the Löwen-Reserve he became champion of the Regionalliga Bayern in 2013 , but failed in relegation because of promotion to the 3rd division . In the 2013/14 season Geipl trained regularly with the professionals and made it into the second division squad several times. However, he was not used.

The midfielder then moved to the third division SSV Jahn Regensburg for the 2014/15 season . With the club he was relegated to the regional league and returned to the third division after a year as a champion. In the 2016/17 season he made it through to the 2nd Bundesliga with the club . In 2015, Geipl suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament and was out for six months, after his return he was able to work for a regular position.

For the 2020/21 season, the Upper Bavarian is leaving Regensburg after six years and switching to 1. FC Heidenheim , with whom he signed a contract valid until June 2023.
