Andreas Hannemann

Andreas Hannemann (born November 3, 1961 in Schwicheldt ) is a major general in the Army of the Bundeswehr and has been in command of the Rapid Forces division in Stadtallendorf since March 14, 2019 .

Training and first uses

Promotions

Andreas Hannemann began his training in the Paratrooper Battalion 272 in Wildeshausen in 1981 and completed it with an officer course. He then studied economics and organizational sciences at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg .

Afterwards he was platoon leader in the 3rd company of the Panzergrenadierlehrbataillon 92 in Munster , and from 1989 to 1992 company commander of the 3rd company of the Panzergrenadierbataillon 82 and the 2nd company of the Panzergrenadierbataillon 81 in Lüneburg ; In 1992 he was employed as an S3 officer in the staff of Panzer Brigade 8, also in Lüneburg, before he became lecture director at the armored troop school in Munster in 1993 . From 1994 to 1996 he completed the general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg.

Service as a staff officer

Until 1998 he served in the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn as an officer for military intelligence in the command staff of the armed forces , before completing the British general staff course. From 1999 to 2001 he was a staff officer in Division J3 at the headquarters of the 1st German-Dutch Corps in Münster .

Subsequently, he was employed as a battalion commander of the 92nd Panzer Grenadier Battalion in Munster. From 2003 to 2005 he was again employed in the Federal Ministry of Defense, this time on the staff of State Secretary Klaus-Günther Biederbick . Until 2008 he was course director of the national general staff course at the command academy and also a liaison officer to the staff of the Afghan armed forces in Kabul . From 2009 to 2012 he served as head of the planning department in the ministry in Berlin .

Service as a general

Hannemann then took over as commander of Airborne Brigade 26 in Saarlouis and was appointed deputy commander of the 10th Panzer Division in November 2014. In February 2015 he took over the command of the Train Advice Assist Commands North from Brigadier General Harald Gante, which he handed over to his successor Brigadier General Hartmut Renk on December 19, 2015 . He handed over the post as deputy commander of the 10th Panzer Division to Brigadier General Michael Podzus in order to take over from Gert-Johannes Hagemann as commander of the Infantry Training Center and General of the Infantry in Hammelburg on September 16, 2016 . In March 2019 he handed this over to Brigadier General Michael Matz , and on March 14, 2019 himself became the commander of the Rapid Forces division in Stadtallendorf. In this post he succeeded Major General Andreas Marlow . In this post he was promoted to major general himself. In his position as major general of the Bundeswehr, Hannemann commented on the riots on the night of June 20th to 21st, 2020 in Stuttgart-Mitte in the Bild newspaper with the words "I don't recommend anyone attacking one of us!"
