Armands Bērziņš (born December 27, 1983 in Riga , Latvian SSR ) is a Latvian ice hockey player who is under contract with EV Duisburg in the Oberliga Nord .
Career
Armands Bērziņš started his career at HK Prizma Riga . In the 1999/2000 season he was used in some games for Essamika / Juniors Riga in the East European Hockey League , but otherwise continued to play for his home club in the national championship. In 2001 he moved to HK Riga 2000 .
Between 2001 and 2003 he went on the ice in the LHJMQ for the Shawinigan Cataractes . During this time he was selected in the fifth round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild , for whom he never played. There followed two years at ECHL before he returned to his home country.
With the HK Riga 2000 he took part in the IIHF Continental Cup 2005/06 and took second place. He also won the Latvian championship with the club in 2006 and 2007. He had started the 2006/07 season at the Czech first division club Vsetínská hokejová , but returned to his home club mid-season. In the middle of the following season he moved to the Slovak extra league for HK Nitra - but ended the season with the Czech second division club HK Jestřábi Prostějov .
In the summer of 2008, Dinamo Riga was signed by the newly founded KHL participant , for whom he then played for two years. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he was also used by Dinamo's farm team , the Dinamo Juniors Riga . He spent the 2010/11 season at HPK Hämeenlinna in the Finnish SM-liiga . For the 2011/12 season he was committed by HK Junost Minsk from the Belarusian extra league .
After holding positions at HK Kompanjon-Naftohas Kiev , Beibarys Atyrau and HC Pustertal , he returned to Dinamo Riga in summer 2015. The following season he played for HC Amiens Somme from Ligue Magnus before moving to Germany for EV Duisburg in 2017 .
