The 1919 hurricane season officially began on June 1, 1919 and lasted through November 30, 1919. These dates usually demarcate the period of each year when most of the tropical cyclones form in the Atlantic Basin.

The 1919 season was a sub-par season. Only three tropical cyclones formed and only one became a hurricane . The first storm of the season was a tropical storm that struck Pensacola , Florida , Florida , causing only $ 25,000 in damage. Another tropical storm hit Bermuda in mid-November. The most notable storm of the season, however, was Hurricane Florida Keys . The storm killed a total of 600 people and moved directly over Key West as a Category 4 . Most of the people were killed at sea. The storm moved most of the Gulf of Mexico shipping routes as a Category 4 severe storm before coming ashore south of Corpus Christi , Texas as Category 1 .
