Avalon is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Rosa County in the US state of Florida with 679 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Avalon is about 10 km southwest of Milton and about 20 km northeast of Pensacola . The CDP is crossed by 281 Florida State Road .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 679 inhabitants were distributed over 333 households. 89.8% of the population identified themselves as whites , 4.4% as African American , 1.8% as Indians and 0.7% as Asian Americans . 0.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.9% to several ethnic groups. 2.4% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 and 31.3% of all households lived in 23.6% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 73.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.39 people and the average family size was 2.63 people.

18.4% of the population were younger than 20 years, 21.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 34.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 26.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 48 years. 50.5% of the population were male and 49.5% were female.

The median annual income was $ 88,074, with no one living below the poverty line.
