The Breda – Eindhoven line is a railway line between Breda and Eindhoven . The railway line is an important railway line in the south of the Netherlands. The length of the route is around 58 kilometers.

history

On October 5, 1863, the first section between Breda and Tilburg was opened; that was the first section of the Dutch State Railways . The section between Tilburg and Boxtel was inaugurated on May 1, 1865. The last section between Boxtel and Eindhoven was opened to traffic on July 1, 1866.

Between 1998 and 2002, the line between Boxtel and Eindhoven was expanded from two to four tracks, which is why the stations in Boxtel and Best were completely rebuilt. The station in Best was converted into a tunnel station.

With the timetable change in December 2010, the station was renamed Tilburg West.

In the 2012 annual timetable , the Intercity trains from The Hague to Venlo and the regional train from Tilburg Universiteit to Weert run on the route . The Intercitys from Roosendaal to Arnhem and the regional train from Breda to Utrecht only run on the section between Breda and Tilburg . In addition, the stations between Boxtel and Eindhoven Centraal will be traversed by the intercity trains from Alkmaar to Maastricht or Heerlen and from Schiphol Airport to Eindhoven and the regional train from 's-Hertogenbosch to Deurne .
