The Bahraini U-23 national soccer team is a selection team of Bahraini soccer players . It is subordinate to the Bahraini football association BFA and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, at the U-23 Asian championships , the U-23 tournament of the Golf Cup and the football tournaments of the Summer Olympic Games and the Asian Games .
So far, the team has not been able to qualify for the Olympic football tournament. In 2020 , Bahrain will take part in the U-23 Asian Cup for the first time. The team won the U-23 golf cup for the first time in 2013 , after finishing second in 2008 and 2012 . Bahrain took part in the Asian Games four times and made it to the second round in 2002 and 2018 .
Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 23 and who are Bahraini citizens .
