Bernd Kohn (born March 13, 1955 in Mörfelden-Walldorf ) is a German drummer , composer and musical writer.

Life

Bernd Kohn attended the Dr. Hoch's Conservatory in Frankfurt and studied from 1972 to 1977 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in the orchestra class of Karl Setzer percussion with final artistic maturity . He then studied private music in Frankfurt from 1978 to 1980 and, in addition, distance learning arrangement and composition at the Berklee College of Music in Boston . During and after his musical training he worked as a studio musician , as a temporary worker at various theaters ( Oper Frankfurt , Staatstheater Kassel ) and played in various rock, jazz and big bands (including Duesenberg tour band, hot swingers, Otto Benz big band) with musicians such as B. Michael Sagmeister , Christoph Oeser , Emil Mangelsdorff , Roland Schneider , Kai Eckardt-Karpeh , Inge Brandenburg , Joachim Witt . There were other engagements as a studio musician, touring and TV - appearances with national and international artists such. B. Boney M. , Peter Hofmann , Hallucination Company , Mungo Jerry , Rainhard Fendrich , Chris de Burgh Band, Markus , Stars in der Manege , Cirst Circus.

He has also written four musicals as a musical author and composer (Rhomenia, Just Stars, Räuber Reloaded and Honey-Das Weihnachtsmusical) and as a songwriter composed various singles for artists or co-wrote as a co-composer ( Markus , Wilfried , Fernando Express, etc.).
