Poems and sagas
Song of the village well
The well of my home
roars dreams full of poetry
the well of my home
sings me the melody of youth
I often hear its happy rustling
and murmurs when the night begins
and couples exchange their kisses
at the edge of the fountain in the May wind
I see myself playing there as a child
with boats that I made myself.
I see my brow cool
after many a wild boy fight
I see the twinkling of golden stars
in the dark water for and for.
Am I far away in the distance
the well of my home is with me.
