Biskupice ( German Bischdorf ) is a place of Gmina Byczyna in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location
Biskupice is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. The village of Biskupice is located about three kilometers southwest of the Byczyna municipality , about 16 kilometers north of the district town of Kluczbork and about 58 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .
The state road Droga krajowa 11 runs through the village . Biskupice has with the station Biskupice koło Kluczborka a stop on the railway line Kluczbork – Poznań .

Neighboring places of Biskupice are in the northwest Polanowice ( Polanowitz ), in the north the municipality seat Byczyna ( Pitschen ), in the east Paruszowice ( tree garden ), in the south Sarnów ( Sarnau ) and in the west Kochłowice ( Kochelsdorf ).
history
In 1393 the village was first mentioned as Bysschoffdorff .
In 1845 there was a Protestant church, a Protestant church and a further 33 houses in the village. In the same year 297 people lived in Bischdorf, 68 of them Catholic. In 1874 the district of Bischdorf was founded. The first head of office was the freehold owner Bernhard Seidel. In 1885 there were 221 people in Bischdorf.
In 1933 332 people lived in Bischdorf, in 1939 again 305 people. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district
As a result of the Second World War, in 1945 Bischdorf, like most of Silesia, fell under Polish administration. Subsequently, the place was renamed Biskupice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
Attractions
- The Roman Catholic scrap wood church of St. John ( Kościół św. Jana Chrzciciela ) was built in 1626. The steeple was added in 1776. Inside there is a crucifix from the 17th century and a late baroque altar. Until 1945 the church served as a Protestant church. The church has been a listed building since 1958.
