Bogusze ( German Boggusch ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Prostki ( rural community Prostken ) in the powiat Ełcki ( Lyck district ).
Geographical location
Bogusze on the River Elk ( Polish Ełk ) located in the southern eastern part of the Warmia and Mazury , 17 kilometers southeast of the county seat Ełk ( German Elk ) and five kilometers northwest of the already in the Podlaskie neighbors on county town Grajewo .
history
Bogusze has always been a border village, as evidenced by the "Ostrokollnische Grenzsäule", Duke Albrecht's , which is still on today's Polish state road 65 . It was created in 1545 when Bogusze was the border point in the triangle between the Kingdom of Poland , the Duchy of Prussia and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania . From 1815 he marked the border between Prussia and Russia, from 1871 between the German Reich and Russia, from 1918 between the German Reich and Poland, and from 1939 to 1941 between the German Reich and the Soviet Union.
The village of Bogusze is now part of the Prostki rural community .

On the Catholic side, Bogusze belongs to Grajewo within the Diocese of Łomża of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland , and on the Protestant side to the Church in Ełk (Lyck) , a subsidiary of the Pisz (Johannisburg) parish in the Masurian Diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
