Brandon Kyle Bowman (born October 15, 1984 in Beverly Hills , California ) is an American basketball player who was German runner-up and cup winner in 2009 with the Telekom Baskets from Bonn .

Career

In Los Angeles County born on the US West Coast and raised joined Bowman in 2002 to study at the Georgetown University in Washington, DC to the East Coast. For the university team Hoyas he played in the Big East Conference of the NCAA Division I. In his senior year 2006 you reached the second round Sweet Sixteen in the national finals of the NCAA . Bowman himself had declining odds and game shares in his senior year , according to strong personal stats as a sophomore and junior . Then he was not selected in the NBA draft of the highest endowed US professional league and could not recommend himself for a contract in the NBA in so-called training camps .

After the end of his college season Bowman in 2006 was offered a contract at the Jam from Bakersfield in his California home who are new to the NBA Development League were added. Despite convincing performances, especially in the second season, he did not succeed in the junior league, so that he joined the Italian second division Ignis from Novara during this season in early 2008 . There, however, he could no longer prevent the bottom of the table of the previous season, who had only held the class by taking over another license, was again bottom of the table and now stopped his game operation for the time being.

After the end of the season, Bowman returned to the States in the summer of 2008 to draw attention to himself again in the NBA Summer League . This was not enough for the NBA, but the German runner-up Telekom Baskets Bonn took him under contract for the 2008/09 season . With the Bonners he was selected as the best point collector and best rebounder of his team as an All-Star and took part in the BBL All-Star Game 2009. With his team he reached the cup final, which was clearly lost against the reigning champions Alba Berlin . While they were eliminated internationally in the quarter-final play-offs of the EuroChallenge 2009 against the eventual title holder Virtus Bologna , they met again in the national championship play-offs against Alba Berlin, which they defeated in five games after one in the fourth game Had gambled away at home. In a dramatic final series for the championship, however, the title was lost in the final seconds of the last and decisive game at the new champions EWE Baskets Oldenburg .

For the 2009/10 season Bowman tried again to make the leap into the NBA . In September 2009 it was announced that Bowman was part of the Philadelphia 76ers' preliminary roster . There he was, however, deleted from the squad shortly before the start of the season and received no contract, whereupon he moved to the Türkiye Basketbol Ligi for the first division club Tofaş from Bursa . With the club, however, he missed participation in the play-offs for the Turkish championship. Also in the summer break of 2010 he was active in the NBA Summer League and played for the Charlotte Bobcats . There, however, he could not recommend himself for a more extensive contract.

For the 2010/11 season Bowman signed a contract with the Bulgarian club Lukoil Akademik from Sofia , but then moved to "MSB" in Le Mans in France at the end of January 2011 for a six-week contract . This was not extended on the part of the club and Bowman then moved to KK FMP Železnik from Belgrade in Serbia for the rest of the season . For the 2011/12 season Bowman received a contract with the Israeli first division club Maccabi from Rishon LeZion . After this contract ended, he moved to Dongbu Promy from Wonju in the Korean Basketball League in 2012 . End of October 2012, he was there in a player exchange for the former German international Julian Sensley to the Samsung Thunders from Seoul issued. In January 2013 Bowman moved back to the Israeli first division to Hapoel Gilboa Galil. But due to injuries he could not become the top performer for his team as hoped.

For the 2013/2014 season, Bowman did not find a new team and recovered in the USA and healed his injuries. In November 2013 he finally signed a contract in Germany with newly promoted SC RASTA Vechta from the Beko BBL . In terms of sport, however, the season ended with Vechta being relegated back to the ProA . Immediately after the season in Germany, Bowman moved to New Zealand to the Pacific Jewelers Saints. For the 2014/2015 season Bowman returned to Germany and signed a contract with BBC Medi from Bayreuth .
