Brives is a French municipality with 258 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre in the Region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Issoudun and the Canton of La Châtre (until 2015: Canton Issoudun-Sud ).

Brives is about 19 kilometers east-northeast of Châteauroux . On the outskirts, the Liennet river flows into the Théols . Brives is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Thizay in the north, Meunet-Planches in the east and south-east, Vouillon in the south and Sainte-Fauste in the west.
