Brzegi is a village in the rural municipality of Bukowina Tatrzańska in the Powiat Tatrzański in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in southern Poland in the historical Podhale region . It is located on the Białka mountain river , the Oswald-Balzer-Weg panoramic road and national road 49 and voivodship road 960. The village is located in the Pogórze Bukowińskie mountain range about one kilometer south of Bukowina Tatrzańska and about ten kilometers east of Zakopane . It is a ski resort at the foot of the High Tatras .

Attractions

The place was mentioned in a document as early as the 16th century. It was founded in 1625 under Wallachian law . The wooden church of St. Anthony in Zakopane style from the 20th century is administered by the Steyler missionaries. The place borders on the Tatra National Park in the south . Parts of the municipality are located in the High Tatras, in particular the Dolina Białki with its side valleys Dolina Rybiego Potoku , Dolina Roztoki , Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich and Dolina Waksmundzka . The highest mountains in Poland, including the Rysy, are located in the municipality . The place name Brzegi can be translated as bank . What is meant is the west bank of the Białka, in which it has a share. In fact, Małe Ciche is quieter than the neighboring ski resorts of Zakopane or Bukowina Tatrzańska . The tourist infrastructure is nonetheless well developed.
