The Cadre 45/2 World Championship in 1947 was the 33rd World Championship, which was held in Cadre 45/2 until 1947 and from 1948 in Cadre 47/2. The tournament took place in Saragossa from September 26th to 28th, 1947 . It was the first Cadre 45/2 World Championship in Spain.
history
The 1947 Cadre 45/2 World Championship was won by the Dutchman Piet van de Pol, who was internationally unknown before the war . The defending champion from 1939 René Gabriëls was only fourth. That was probably because Gabriëls was busy founding his later world-famous billiard company Gabriels. The world championship was planned with eight participants. But the associations of Egypt, Central and North America had canceled. Due to various problems other Europeans could not participate either. Still, the championship was a great success. According to Spanish reports, the games watched 2,000 viewers. It was the last Cadre 45/2 World Championship.
