Chatyrka ( Russian Хатырка ) is a village (selo) in the Chukchi Autonomous Okrug ( Russia ) with 377 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010). The place is located at the mouth of the river of the same name in the Bering Sea .
history
Chatyrka was founded around 1756 and is one of the oldest places in the Anadyr region. The name is derived from the Chatyrka river . The locals also call the place Watyrkan .
traffic
Chatyrka is not connected to the Russian road network. The place has a small port . There is a flight connection ( helicopter ) to Anadyr once or twice a month .

In July 2011, a stone meteorite was found near Chatyrka .
