Rytkutschi ( Russian Рыткучи ; Chukchi Ырыткучътн ) is a village (selo) in the Chukchi Autonomous Okrug ( Russia ) with 517 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 550 km as the crow flies north-northwest of the district administrative center of Anadyr . It is not far from the southeast bank of the Tschaun Bay of the East Siberian Sea , on the right bank of a common estuary of the Tschaun and Paljawaam, a little below the confluence of the right tributary Rytkutschin .
Rytkutschi is part of the Pewek district and is located 90 km south of the city. The urban district was formed in 2015 from the former Tschaunski rajon , half of which Rytkutschi was the only village and seat of the rural community (selskoje posselenije) Rytkutschi .
history
The village emerged from a in the Soviet period in 1934 for the purpose of sedentarisation of semi-nomadic living Chukch decorated population "cultural reference point" (Russian kultbasa ), who was just at the mouth of the Chaun. In the 1950s, the location was moved to its current location.
Rytkutschi is one of the places in the Autonomous Okrug whose building fabric was in fact completely renewed from the 1990s.
traffic
Rytkutschi is connected to the Pewek district center via a 120 km long winter slope that follows the eastern bank of the Tschaun Bay. During the ice-free period there is a boat connection and a year-round helicopter connection.
