Christopher Paul Bartolone (born January 24, 1970 in Clinton Township , Michigan ) is a former Italian - American ice hockey player and now a coach .
Career
Bartolone began his career in 1987 in the Québec Major Junior Hockey League with the Victoriaville Tigres , for which he was on the ice for two years. After a season with the Trois-Rivières Draveurs , the offensive defender moved to Italy in Serie B. After two seasons he switched to Serie A1 , Italy's top-class league.
In Milan he played four years for SG Milano Saima and HC Milano 24 before moving to Germany for Starbulls Rosenheim for the 1996/97 season. From 1997 he wore the Krefeld Pinguine jersey for three years and then moved to Düsseldorfer EG , where he stayed for two years. From the 2002/03 season, Bartolone played in the Sauerland for the Iserlohn Roosters . Here he was one of the pillars of the team and scored particularly well in the power play. Nevertheless, he left the German Ice Hockey League and played a few more games for the EC KAC in Austria in March 2004 . There the right-shooter also had a contract for the 2004/05 season. Shortly before the start of the season, however, he was retired and moved to the EC Graz 99ers . The following year Bartolone played in Denmark for SønderjyskE ishockey .
In the summer of 2006 he signed with the Arizona Sundogs in the Central Hockey League . In the first two years he was able to reach the play-offs with his team and won the Miron Cup with his team in the 2007/08 season . In the 2009/10 season , Bartolone worked for the Sundogs in addition to his role as a player as an assistant coach. From the 2010/11 season he was behind the gang for two seasons exclusively as an assistant coach at the Sundogs. The Italian-American held the same position from 2014 to 2016 at the Drakkar de Baie-Comeau with games in the QMJHL. He then became assistant coach for the Swiss NLB league club EHC Olten for the 2016/17 season . At the beginning of February 2018, he took over as head coach at EHCO after Bengt-Åke Gustafsson had previously been fired. Bartolone led Olten to the championship final, where they lost to Rapperswil in spring 2018. In the 2018/19 season, Olten reached the semi-finals under his leadership and was eliminated from SC Langenthal. Subsequently, his contract, which expired at the end of April 2019, was not extended.
