Coupe de France féminine 2012/13

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The competition for the Coupe de France féminine in the 2012/13 season was the twelfth draw of the French football cup for women's teams . Participation was only compulsory for women in the first and second leagues.

The defending champion was Olympique Lyon . Lyon also prevailed in this competition and won the trophy for the third time after 2008 and 2012 in its sixth final appearance . As with the two previous successes, Olympiques women had also become French champions this season and thus also won the doublé for the third time . Lyon's absolute dominance was also shown by the fact that it played the first four rounds before the semi-finals with a goal difference of 46: 0. The defeated AS Saint-Étienne finalists were in a cup final for the second time after 2011, when they left the field as winners.

The competition was held in the classic cup mode; This means in particular that the respective fixtures were drawn without seeding lists or a performance-based or from the round of 16 without regional pre-sorting of the clubs from all clubs still in competition and only one game was played at the end of which a winner had to be determined (and be it through a penalty shootout - an extension in the event of a tie after 90 minutes was not provided), which then qualified for the next round, while the loser was eliminated. Home rights were also determined for each match by drawing lots - with the exception of the final, which took place in a neutral place at different locations every year - but with the restriction that clubs that have to compete against an eleven playing at least two league levels higher automatically have home rights got.

After completing the qualification rounds organized by the regional subdivisions of the regional association FFF , the twelve top division clubs also intervened in the thirty-second finals, the so-called second national round (Deuxième tour fédéral) .

Semifinals

(a)In the first of the two games, Lyon beat Montpellier 6-5 on penalties, but only thanks to a wrong decision by the referee, who scored a correctly scored penalty from Montpellier's Rumi Utsugi - the ball was off the post to the goalkeeper's back and from there crashed into the goal - the recognition refused. Shortly after the end of this game, both club boards jointly demanded that the French federation repeat the semi-finals; However, Montpellier's objection was rejected because it was formally "not filed immediately after the referee's decision, but only after the penalty shoot-out and thus too late". Afterwards, Olympique suggested that the game should be repeated in order to “preserve sportsmanship and fair play”. The association agreed, so that Lyon played again in Montpellier three days before the final and this time clearly asserted themselves.
