Cullman County is a county in the state of Alabama in the United States . The county seat is Cullman .
history
Cullman County was founded on January 24, 1877 and formed from parts of Blount , Walker , Morgan and Winston Counties . It was named after Johann G. Cullmann, a German-American who founded a settlement for migrants from Germany in Alabama in 1873.
Nine structures and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as of April 1, 2020, including the Ave Maria Grotto , Crane Hill Masonic Lodge, and the Cullman Historic District .

According to the 2000 census , there were 77,483 people in Cullman County. 998 of these people lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 30,706 households and 22,476 families. The population density was 41 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 96.81 percent white, 0.96 percent African American, 0.37 percent Native American, 0.18 percent Asian, 0.03 percent of residents from the Pacific island area and 0.62 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 1.03 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 2.18 percent of the population.
Of the 30,706 households, 32.1 percent had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 60.8 percent were married couples living together, 8.7 percent were single mothers, 26.8 percent were non-families, 24.0 percent of all households were single households and 10.4 percent had people aged 65 and over or above. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 2.94.
24.3 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 8.8 percent between 18 and 24, 28.3 percent between 25 and 44, 24.0 percent between 45 and 64 and 14.6 percent were 65 years or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 97.3 males and for females aged 18 and over there were 94.2 males.
The median income for a household in the 32,256 USD , and the median income for a family 39,341 USD. Males had a median income of $ 30,444 versus $ 20,436 for females. The per capita income was $ 16,922. 9.5 percent of families and 13.0 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
