Döhren is a district of Petershagen in the Minden-Lübbecke district in East Westphalia .

geography

It is located northeast of the core city ; in the east Döhren borders on the district of Seelenfeld and in the north on the district of Ilvese . In the west the Weser and in the south the districts of Windheim , Ilse and Neuenknick form the border. The Gehle flows through the village and joins the Weser at Ilvese to the north.

history

The Döhren manor was owned by the von Klencke family from 1568 to approx. 1625, who provided pawns and drosten of the house and office of Schlüsselburg since 1438 . In 1682 51 farms were compulsory, first and foremost the lordly office in Schlüsselburg , and to a lesser extent also in the Minish office in Petershagen , the Hoya office in Stolzenau and the von Klencke family. Until the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1973, Döhren was an independent municipality with a total area of ​​around 7.89 km² and 897 inhabitants (December 31, 1972) and belonged to the Windheim zu Lahde district and the Minden district .

Culture and sights

Döhren is part of the Westphalian Mühlenstraße with the Döhren watermill, "Plaggen-Mühle" . The watermill building was probably built in 1751, as can be seen from a stone inscription. The water wheel has a diameter of 3.3 m and a width of 1.4 m.

In the mill registration carried out by the Prussian state in 1721, an Arnold Plagge is listed as the owner of the mill. This name has been used to this day.

Economy and Infrastructure

Dören (Weser) is on the Nienburg – Minden railway line . Trains pass the place without stopping.
