Daniel John King (born August 28, 1963 in Beckenham ) is an English chess grandmaster , chess trainer and chess author.
Life
Daniel King was awarded the title of International Master by FIDE in 1982 , then the title of Grand Master in 1989 .
He headed the chess column in the British daily newspaper The Guardian and runs the YouTube channel PowerPlayChess .
King has not played any rated games since the Four Nations Chess League 2009/10 , which was evaluated in July 2010, and is therefore listed as inactive by FIDE.
For ChessBase and Spiegel Online he comments on the world championship duels and the candidates tournaments (in German, which he speaks very well).

King took part in 1989 with the English team in the European team championship .
Club chess
In the British Four Nations Chess League (4NCL) King played in the 1993/94 season for the winner Invicta Knights Maidstone , from 1994 to 1997 for Na Fianna and from 1997 to 2010 for Guildford A&DC (where he played in the seasons 1997/98 and 2002 / 03 played no game), with whom he won the 4NCL in 2004 , 2007 and 2008 .
From 1999 to 2003, King played in the Swiss National League A for the Winterthur chess company .
In the German Federal Chess League he played from 1984 to 1987 at SC Kreuzberg and from 1993 to 2001 at SV Castrop-Rauxel .
