Dolné Plachtince (German Unterplachtintz , Hungarian Alsópalojta ) is a municipality in the south of Slovakia with 625 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Veľký Krtíš , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The municipality is located on the northern foothills of the Ipeľská kotlina basin (part of the Juhoslovenská kotlina ) in a wide, shallow valley of the Plachtinský creek in the Ipeľ catchment area . The center of the village is at an altitude of 207 m nm and is four kilometers from Veľký Krtíš .
Neighboring municipalities are Stredné Plachtince in the north, Veľký Krtíš in the east, Malý Krtíš in the southeast, Obeckov in the south and Príbelce in the west.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1337 as Palahta Inferior and belonged to the landed gentry, namely the families Dacsó , Luka and Simonfi , after 1776 it belonged to the Rosenau chapter. In 1828 there were 129 houses and 786 inhabitants, who were mainly employed in agriculture.
Until 1918 the place in Hont County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
population
According to the 2011 census, there were 609 inhabitants in Dolné Plachtince, including 537 Slovaks, nine Magyars, three Roma and one German, one Croat and one Moravian. 57 residents did not provide any information. 435 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 46 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, four residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident to the Greek Catholic Church. 14 inhabitants were without a denomination and the denomination of 109 inhabitants was not determined.
