Príbelce is a municipality in southern Slovakia with 566 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Veľký Krtíš , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The municipality is located on the south-eastern edge of Krupinská planina (German for "Karpfener Hochebene") in the valley of the Čahovský potok in the catchment area of the Ipeľ . In the south, the municipality extends into the Ipeľská kotlina basin , which is part of the Juhoslovenská kotlina . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 300 m nm and is nine kilometers from Veľký Krtíš .
Neighboring municipalities are Horné Plachtince in the north, Stredné Plachtince in the northeast, Dolné Plachtince in the east, Obeckov in the southeast, Nenince in the south and Čebovce in the west.
history
Today's community was created in 1966 through the merger of Dolné Príbelce (until 1927 "Dolné Pribelce"; Hungarian Alsófehérkút - until 1892 Alsópribel ) and Horné Príbelce (until 1927 "Horné Pribelce"; Hungarian Felsőfehérkút - until 1892 Felsőpribel ). Both places still form their own cadastral communities.
The original place was first mentioned in writing in 1244 as Prebul . In 1262 the Hont family donated the local property to the provost of Bzovík . During the 14th century there were two separate places, which were mentioned in 1354 as Felseuprebul (for Horné Príbelce) and Olsouprebul (for Dolné Príbelce). In 1828 there were 50 houses and 301 inhabitants in Horné Príbelce, 77 houses and 463 inhabitants in Dolné Príbelce, who were mainly employed in agriculture. Landowners in the 19th century came from the Laszkár and Zichy families .
Until 1918/1919, the place in Hont County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 567 inhabitants in Príbelce, including 537 Slovaks , three Czechs and one Magyar . One resident indicated a different ethnic group and 25 residents gave no information about the ethnic group .
445 residents committed themselves to the Evangelical Church AB, 73 residents to the Roman Catholic Church, five residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident to the Greek Catholic Church. 10 residents had no denomination and 33 residents had no denomination.
