Edelweiss (price)

The edelweiss was a folk music prize awarded by the magazine Frau im Spiegel in Berlin from 1989 to 1993 . The edelweiss should be a synonym for the threatened plant species in Germany. The award was sometimes referred to as the " Oscar of Folk Music".

On the occasion of the awards, gala events were held in Berlin's Deutschlandhalle, which from 1990 onwards were also broadcast or recorded and broadcast by the television station Sat.1 .

1989 award winner

Prize winner 1990

The television gala was broadcast on Sat.1. Marianne and Michael presented the TV gala .

Other musical guests were: the Pilgramsreuth brass band , Speelwark , Kastelruther Spatzen and the Wildecker Herzbuben .

1991 award winner

The television gala was broadcast on December 8, 1991 on Sat.1. Patrick Lindner and Ramona Leiß presented the TV gala .

1992 laureate

The television gala was broadcast on Sat.1 on November 29, 1992. Vico Torriani conducted the show . Star guests were among others Heino and Günter Wewel .

Laureate 1993

The television gala was broadcast on Sat.1 on November 27, 1993. Erika Bruhn hosted the TV gala . The star guest was Heino .
