Elbriot (German "Elbaufruhr") is a since 2013. held annually one-day open air - music festival in Hamburg .
history
The festival takes place on the outdoor area of the Hamburg wholesale market . When the festival first took place, 14,000 tickets were sold out in a very short time. At the first edition of the festival, the organization was not prepared for the high number of visitors, so there were barriers on the site that were felt to be unnecessary and bottlenecks in the supply of drinks. The metalcore band As I Lay Dying had to cancel their performance because their front man Tim Lambesis was arrested. Caliban appeared as a replacement . A new, revised concept was then presented and applied for the following years. There was a changed entry / entrance situation and fewer barriers. The second festival was overshadowed by cool temperatures, gusts of wind and a few showers. The short-term cancellation of Of Mice & Men 2014 due to illness was again absorbed by Caliban. The third festival took place under sometimes humid and warm conditions, but there were no major rescue missions.
In 2017 the festival was sold out weeks beforehand and took place in a different place at the Mehr! -Theater on the wholesale market . Due to scheduling reasons, the festival was shortened from two to one day.

Hammaburg Festival
In addition to the Elbriot, the Hammaburg Festival took place on the same site for the first time in 2018, when temperatures were high in summer. The musical focus in 2018 was directed towards medieval rock. The gothic rock band The Sisters of Mercy and the crossover band Clawfinger have already been confirmed for 2019 .
