Ephraim Flint

Ephraim Flint (born March 10, 1819 in Baldwin , Maine , † June 17, 1894 in Dover, Maine) was an American lawyer and politician who was Secretary of State of Maine from 1864 to 1867 .

Life

Ephraim Flint was born to Ephraim Flint (1782-1865) and Phoebe Thompson (1789-1865) in Baldwin.

Flint studied at Norwich University , where he graduated in 1841. He then studied law in Portland and at Harvard Law School . He was admitted to the bar in 1843.

As a member of the Republican Party , he was Secretary of State of Maine from 1864 to 1867 .

He married Laura Maria Riley (1822–1899) in 1844 . The couple had five children. Ephraim Flint died on June 17, 1894 at the age of 75 in Dover, Maine. His grave is in Dover Cemetery in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine.
