Frederick Robie junior

Frederick Robie (born September 19, 1893 in Gorham , Maine , † June 5, 1964 ibid) was an American politician who was Secretary of State of Maine from 1937 to 1941 .

Life

Frederick Robie was born in Gorham, Maine. His grandfather was the governor Frederick Robie . Robie Jr. graduated from the University of Maine in 1916 . He served in the Army during World War I and was released as a pilot with the rank of lieutenant . In World War II he rejoined the Army and was dismissed with the rank of major .

After the First World War, he worked in the Department of Agriculture for the states of Washington and New Hampshire . He then returned to Maine and was a member of the Republican Party in the Maine House of Representatives and a member of the Governors Council.

He initially served as Deputy Secretary of State under Lewis O. Barrows when he was Secretary of State, and from 1937 to 1941 he was Secretary of State.

Frederick Robie was married to Alice Genthner Robie. The couple had a daughter and two sons. He died in Gorham on June 5, 1964.
