The ship was built in 2005 under the hull number 841 as one of several structurally identical ships from Damen Shipyards . The hull was built by Damen Yichang Shipyards, the equipment was carried out at Damen Scheepswerf Hoogezand. The ship was delivered to a one-ship company in August 2005. The ship was partially financed by a closed fleet fund launched by HCI Capital in 2006 .

Carisbrooke Shipping chartered the ship to Universal Africa Lines, among others, who used it as UAL America in liner services between Europe and West Africa . In 2015 the ship was sold to the Dutch shipping company ForestWave Navigation together with three sister ships also employed by Carisbrooke Shipping . ForestWave Navigation continues to use the ship in liner services between Europe and West Africa.
