successes
Red Bull Air Race World Championship
When Bergér became part of the Challenger Class in 2015, he was one of the youngest pilots to ever fly in the Red Bull Air Race. Determined to further develop his air racing skills, he placed a total of ten podiums in his first three seasons. Highlights included his first race win in Spielberg, Austria, and triumph in his first home race at the Lausitzring in Germany (both in 2016). The winning streak continued in 2017 with victory in the race in San Diego in the USA. He later also triumphed in Budapest, the spiritual home of the Red Bull Air Race. Bergér will continue to develop in the 2018 season and try to get used to the new Challenger Class aircraft - an Edge 540 V2.
Florian Bergér is the first German pilot to win the Red Bull Air Race Challenger Cup title, and he is the only pilot in the world to have won it twice.
Bergér and Red Bull Air Race colleague Daniel Ryfa have been officially appointed stand-by master. You will move into the master class if one of the master pilots is absent for a long time or decides to get out.
