Frank Leo Schröder

Frank Leo Schröder (* 1961 in Lingen (Ems) ) is a German actor .

Life

After graduating from high school Georgianum in Lingen , he studied acting at the Hanover University of Music and Drama from 1983 to 1987 . He then had an engagement at the Darmstadt State Theater from 1987 to 1991 and at the Mainz State Theater from 1991 to 1995 . Schröder played in Little Man, what now? by Tankred Dorst , in Fassbinder's Katzelmacher and Strindberg's Fräulein Julie as well as the musicals Der kleine Horrorladen and Linie 1 . Since these fixed contracts he has been working as a freelancer and in 2001 took on a teaching position at the University of Music and Theater in Leipzig . There, as well as at the TPT and the Musical Comedy in Leipzig, he also works as a director and staged, among other plays, the play Woodstock, written together with his colleague Edda Leesch . In 2017 he directed Rio Reiser - King of Germany at the Hans-Otto-Theater in Potsdam. His production was nominated for the Friedrich Luft Prize .

Frank Leo Schröder has worked extensively in front of the camera since the mid-1990s. He cast guest roles in television series such as The Last Witness , In All Friendship, and Großstadtrevier . He became known as the choleric superior of Anke Engelke in the sitcom Anke . In the series Der Heiland auf dem Eiland he played the role of mayor at Jürgen von der Lippe's side .

As a voice actor, Frank Leo Schröder voiced his fellow actor Martin Donovan in the film Shadows & Lies . Schröder lives in Berlin and has one son.
