The women's ice hockey Bundesliga season 1990/91 was the third Bundesliga season for women in Germany. As in the previous season , the reigning champions could not defend their title. For the first time, the team of the OSC Berlin- Schöneberg won the German championship title against the team of the EHC Eisbären Düsseldorf , which was again in the final .

The league was carried out by the German Ice Hockey Federation .

mode

The preliminary round was carried out separately in the relays in a single round in group north and a double round in group south each against each with a return game.

Due to the different group strengths, the teams in the north group in places 1 to 4 and in the south group the teams in places 1 and 2 qualified for the final tournament.

Relegation to the women's ice hockey Bundesliga 1991/92

The Neusser EC was promoted from the regional league North Rhine-Westphalia and the GSC Moers had to relegate from the Bundesliga. The DEC Königsbrunn and EHC Memmingen rose from the Bayernliga directly to the Bundesliga South, as there was no relegated there.
