Friedersdorf is around 25 km southeast of the city limits of Berlin , around 15 km east of Königs Wusterhausen and 60 km west of Frankfurt (Oder) . Friedersdorf is located directly west of the border between the districts of Dahme-Spreewald and Oder-Spree . There are some nature reserves nearby, such as the Skabyer Torfgraben (west), the Storkower Canal (south-east) and the Swatzke and Skabyberge (north-east). The Dahme-Heideseen nature park extends to the east and south of Friedersdorf .

history

In order to Germanize the area inhabited by Wenden , the Lords of Strehle , who lived in Storkow (Mark), settled Thuringians and Franks in the second half of the 13th century . They settled on the only known route from Storkow to Köpenick at the time between Luch and wooded sandy areas. In the year 1346 Friedersdorf is mentioned in the Meissen monastery register as "Friedrichstorff" and was subordinate to the Bishop of Meissen . This is likely to be the first documentary mention. Friedersdorf belonged to ten other parishes under the supervision of the provost von Storkow. The Friedersdorf Parish looked after several villages such as Blossin , Kablow and Bindow .

The place received a development boost first of all from the mail delivery. After a Storkow country mail carrier supplied the surrounding area and Friedersdorf as early as 1849, Friedersdorf received its own post office in 1872, which in turn was responsible for the surrounding villages, but was still subordinate to the Storkow post office. From 1880 onwards, a traveling country mailman supplied Friedersdorf with a one-horse stagecoach .

In 1898 Friedersdorf received its own train station on the newly inaugurated Königs Wusterhausen – Grunow line , a single-track branch line on the Berlin – Görlitz line . This railway line exists in the 21st century and has been used by the OE 36 between Berlin and Frankfurt (Oder) since the East German Railway took over the Königs Wusterhausen-Beeskow railway line in December 2004 . With the timetable change on December 9, 2012, the line designation for RB 36 was standardized.

In 1922 the state government of Berlin and Brandenburg announced that a new pharmacy was planned in Friedersdorf. A Wilhelm Boehnisch from Reichenbach received the license to operate in 1923. Since October 26, 2003 Friedersdorf has formed the Heidesee community in the Dahme-Spreewald district together with Bindow , Blossin , Dannenreich , Dolgenbrodt , Gräbendorf , Gussow , Kolberg , Prieros , Streganz and Wolzig .
