The district league Potsdam 1972/73 was the 21st staging of the district league Potsdam organized by the district technical committee (BFA) football Potsdam . It was the top division in the Potsdam district and the third highest in the league system in the DFV area .
The GDR league relegated Motor Babelsberg secured their first district championship title and returned immediately to the second highest division of the GDR league .
Locomotive Wittstock and Dynamo Gransee descended into one of the subordinate district class groups. In return, the second agency of Motor Babelsberg, which had been downgraded in the previous year, and the BSG Empor Wusterhausen were promoted in the following season. BSG Motor Hennigsdorf comes from the GDR league .

In the promotion round, the four season winners of the district class normally determined the two promoted to the district league. In Season D, Motor Ludwigsfelde's second agent took first place. Since Ludwigsfelde was not eligible for promotion, the free space went to the runner-up BSG electronic Teltow.
