The district league Potsdam 1985/86 was the 34th staging of the district league Potsdam carried out by the district technical committee (BFA) football Potsdam . It was the top division in the Potsdam district and the third highest in the league system in the DFV area .

With the successful title defense, BSG Motor Ludwigsfelde made the title hat trick perfect and qualified for the promotion round to the superordinate GDR league . In this, the Ludwigsfelder took first place in season 2 and rose to the GDR league.

Progress Wittstock and last year's climber Empor Wusterhausen descended into one of the subordinate district class seasons . In return for the following season, the top three of the promotion round rose to the regional league, SG Sachsenhausen and the two relegated farmers Landbau Neustadt and Lokomotive Seddin.

    District league promotion round

    In the promotion round normally the four season winners of the district class determined the three promoted to the district league. In Season C, the second agency of Motor Süd Brandenburg won first place. Since Brandenburg was not eligible for promotion, the free space went to the runner-up, BSG Lokomotive Ketzin. Each team played a home and away game as well as a game on a neutral pitch.
