Preußen Münster was the first team to defend the championship title and prevailed in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga . Relegated Arminia Bielefeld led the table for months and missed the championship due to a 1: 2 defeat on the last match day at VfB Rheine . In the quarter-finals of the amateur championship , Arminia was eliminated against BVL 08 Remscheid . The amateurs of the SG Wattenscheid 09 and the newcomer Sportfreunde Siegen had to relegate . But the SpVg Beckum , the amateurs of VfL Bochum and VfR Sölde rose.
