The Gauliga Elbe / Bode (also Gauliga Eine / Bode ) was one of the top football leagues of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs (VMBV). It was launched in 1923 and existed until 1928. The winner qualified for the finals of the Central German soccer championship .

overview

The Gauliga Elbe / Bode was founded in 1923 in the course of a division reform (the seven first-class district leagues were dissolved and the numerous Gauligen came back first) of the VMBV. It started with seven participating teams and was increased to eight participants in the second season. After three seasons, the league was played with six clubs. In 1928 the Gauliga Elbe / Bode was dissolved, the first-class clubs at that time were classified in the Gauligen Anhalt , Harz , Kyffhäuser and Middle Elbe .

The Gauliga Elbe / Bode was dominated by SV 09 Staßfurt and SV Viktoria Güsten , who made up the Gaume Championships among themselves.

classification

The excessive number of first-class Gauligen within the VMBV had caused a dilution of the game level, there were sometimes double-digit results in the Central German football finals. The clubs from the Gauliga Elbe / Bode were among the weakest clubs in the association. Only in 1924/25 could the first round of the Central German football finals be survived and that only through an association decision. In the remaining part taken finals of the representatives of this league always failed in the first round, 1926/27 lost Viktoria Güsten against SpVgg 1907 Meerane even double digits (00:10).

After the dissolution of the Gauliga Elbe / Bode , the clubs in the Gauligen, in which they were classified, could no longer achieve Gaume championships.

Eternal table

All recorded seasons of the first-class Gauliga Eichsfeld from 1923 to 1928 are taken into account. The complete final table of the championship 1923/24 is not recorded, therefore only participation is taken into account for this season. In the 1924/25 season one game was rated as a defeat for both clubs, so there are more counterpoints than points achieved.
