The Georgia Music Hall of Fame is an American hall of fame that annually honors great musicians of all genres from Georgia .

history

The Georgia Music Hall of Fame was founded in 1979. The first two recordings were given to Ray Charles and Bill Lowery during Georgia Music Week in Atlanta . Since then, prizes have been awarded in different categories every year and artists have been honored with the inclusion. The admission ceremony has been televised since 1983.

In September 1996, the Georgia Hall of Fame moved to Macon , Georgia. Stars like Little Richard , Mike Mills and Bill Berry from REM , die Pips, Travis Tritt and Martha Quinn performed at the opening . The Hall of Fame building was expanded in 1999 and also contains a museum with documents, recordings and instruments, as well as other exhibits.
