Grashof (Seehausen)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Grashof is a residential area in the Beuster district of the Hanseatic city of Seehausen (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Grashof borders directly on the south of the village of Beuster. In the north, the Poggenhagen flows into the Elbe dike irrigation, which flows north to the west of the residential area. To the south of the village, the wood irrigation works in the Elbe dike irrigation, which was previously called the Great Irrigation .

Neighboring towns are Groß Beuster and Klein Beuster in the north, the former Dahmshof in the south-east, Ostorf and Eichfeld in the south, and Esack in the south-west.

history

Originally the place to live was property no. 24 in Klein Beuster . Around 1885 it was given the name Graßhof , also spelled Grasshof , and was later called Grashof . In 1902, the master baker Gustav Braumann sold his bakery in Klein Beuster and acquired the Grashof, making this the last baker in the family to give up this trade. His ancestor, the master baker Heinrich Braumann, moved from Loitsche to Klein Beuster in 1856 and built the first commercial bakery in Beuster, which was in operation until 1902.

Incorporations

When the rural communities of Klein Beuster and Groß Beuster were merged with the Esack estate to form the rural community of Beuster on September 30, 1928 , Grashof stayed with Klein Beuster. When Beuster merged with other municipalities on January 1, 2010 to form a new municipality called Hanseatic City Seehausen (Altmark) , Beuster became a district. Klein Beuster was no longer a district. Since then, Grashof has been a residential area in the Beuster district.
