GD Estoril Praia , officially Grupo Desportivo Estoril Praia , is a Portuguese sports club , best known for its football activities . It was founded in 1939 and is based in Estoril , a town west of Lisbon . The club is 75% owned by the Brazilian company Academia Traffic , a company that trains young footballers in order to later sell them.

Soccer

The club's home stadium is called Estádio António Coimbra da Mota . The club colors are yellow and blue. The greatest success was the final participation in the Portuguese Cup in 1944. In the 2011/12 season , the club rose as first place in the Liga de Honra in the Primeira Liga . In the 2012/13 season , the team finished fifth and qualified for participation in the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League .

In the 2017/18 season , they were relegated to the Segunda League last .
