HSG Irmenach-Kleinich-Horbruch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The HSG Irmenach-Kleinich-Horbruch , HSG IKH for short , is a former German handball club whose venue is located in the Rhineland-Palatinate community of Kleinich . In the summer of 2014, a game community in the women's area was founded under the name HSG Hunsrück together with the SG Gösenroth / Laufersweiler ; the cooperation in the men's area was decided five years later.

history

HSG Irmenach-Kleinich-Horbruch

In March 1981, through the cooperation of the “TuS Irmenach -Beuren 1913” with the “Turn- und Sportverein Kleinich” founded in 1920, the “HSG Irmenach-Kleinich” gaming community was created , which from then on competed in the Oberliga Rheinland because of winning the Irmenach regional league championship. After relegation, in 1984 the first men's team was promoted again to the league, and in 1988 they were promoted to the third-class regional league and won the Rhineland-Palatinate championship. At the end of the first regional league season, the team was able to secure the seventh place clearly the class, but between 1990 and 1993 fluctuated between third and fourth division. In the 1993/94 season , the HSG achieved the best placement in the club's history with fifth place in the southern season of the Regionalliga West . The club won the Rhineland Cup a total of four times during the 1990s and, as a result, took part in the DHB Cup twice:

In June 1999 the senior handball department of the "TuS Horbruch 1920" was accepted into the club, which has had its current name ever since. After seven regional league seasons, the HSG rose again in 2000 to the major league, where they spent two more years. In the summer of 2002, the fourth and, to date, the last promotion to the Southwest relay of the Regionalliga took place. In the next six seasons, the club fought regularly to stay in class; on May 24, 2008, the Irmenach played their last game in the third division at HG Saarlouis (29:34). In June 2008 the association was transformed into a non-profit GmbH (gGmbH). After three years in the major league, HSG Irmenach-Kleinich-Horbruch had to make its way to the fifth-class Rhineland league in 2011, and it wasn't until 2018 that the club celebrated winning the Rhineland Championship again, but then failed in relegation to the RPS major league.

The club has been playing in the Kleinich Hirtenfeldhalle since 1991 with an annual budget of 120,000 euros (as of 2013). At the end of August 2013, the HSG Irmenach-Kleinich-Horbruch came under fire because the association has received a total of around 500,000 euros from the highly indebted Flughafen Frankfurt-Hahn GmbH , which is wholly owned by the federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate (82.5%) and Hessen (17.5%) had received.

HSG Hunsrück (since 2014)

In April 2014, the first women's team of the HSG Irmenach-Kleinich-Horbruch, under coach Jutta Holl, secured the championship of the fifth-rate Rhineland League and thus rose to the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar for the first time in its history . In the same month a cooperation in the form of a syndicate with the Gösenrothern was announced, so after the summer break the HSG Hunsrück celebrated its first league premiere. With six wins from 26 games, they were relegated to the Rhineland League after just one season, but there the team was able to celebrate the championship without defeat and prevail in the promotion games to the Oberliga against TG Osthofen , TG Waldsee and HG Saarlouis . HSG Hunsrück ended the 2016/17 league season under their new coach Sascha Burg in the midfield of the table, while the team lost to HSG Wittlich in the finals of the Rhineland Cup . In the following year, the team surprisingly reached the runner-up in the RPS Oberliga behind FSG Mainz 05 / Budenheim II and had to admit defeat repeatedly in the finals for the Rhineland Cup , this year to TV Bassenheim . During the summer break of 2018, the HSG Hunsrück strengthened itself with the two Macedonian junior national players Arlinda and Mirlinda Dinarica, the Luxembourg national player Joy Wirtz and the Kosovar first division player Arlinda Krasniqi . However, the change from Wirtz failed due to studies, Krasniqi was not granted a visa, and the residence permit of the Dinarica twins was not extended after only three season games for the HSG. Despite these adversities, the HSG Hunsrück won the Rhineland Cup for the first time at the Final Four tournament in its own hall on January 6, 2019 with a 24:18 final victory over TV Bassenheim and thus qualified for the 2019 DHB Women's Cup / 20 . In addition, behind the HSG DJK Marpingen / SC Alsweiler they again reached the runner-up in the upper league. At the start of the 2019/20 season, Franziska Garcia-Almendaris was signed as the new coach of the first women's team, on August 31, 2019, the team will face Bundesliga promoted 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the first main round of the DHB Cup .

As early as December 2016, the HSG Irmenach-Kleinich-Horbruch submitted an application to the neighboring club to expand the cooperation in the youth and women's area to include the men's area in the future. After two failed attempts, a cooperation was decided in March 2019, so that from summer 2019 all areas will join the HSG Hunsrück.
