Hagen Keller (photographer)
Hagen Keller (born April 4, 1968 in Bad Langensalza , Thuringia ) is a German photographer , screenwriter and director .
Hagen Keller wrote the screenplay and directed the movie Meer is nich . In addition to his work as a director, he is known for actor portraits and still photography in film and television productions. Among other things, he photographed the set photos and posters for the Oscar winner The Lives of Others by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck , with whom he studied together in a class at the University of Television and Film .
Life
Keller grew up in Weimar . Because he refused to do military service in the GDR , Keller was not admitted to high school. He did an apprenticeship as a waiter and kept his head above water with jobs (including stoker, carpenter, museum attendant, nurse). Later he was able to catch up on his Abitur through evening studies. After the fall of the Berlin Wall , Keller first studied translation for the languages Portuguese and Russian in Leipzig and Lisbon, until he moved to Munich in 1993 to study photography.
There he studied from 1993 to 1996 at the State Academy for Photo Design in Munich with a degree in photo design. Then in 1997 Keller began studying directing and scriptwriting at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) and graduated with a diploma.
From 2003 to 2009 Keller's film projects were organized under the umbrella of ostlicht filmproduktion; Keller, Lenz, Schwab GbR developed and realized, of which he was a co-founder.
After his award-winning short film "Djen Prischjol" in 2004, Hagen Keller came to the cinemas in 2008 with the "Coming-of-Age" story Meer is nich and won the Bavarian Film Prize with Elinor Lüdde as the best young actress .
Hagen Keller has been working as a freelance photographer since 1996 and has been teaching visual storytelling, film and photography at the University of Television and Film Munich since 2001 . He also teaches at the Macromedia University for Media and Communication and the University of Applied Sciences in Munich .
Hagen Keller lives and works in Munich . He is married to the artist Leonie Felle . Together they work on independent projects in the fields of film, photography, art and music . Since 2009 Hagen Keller has been performing regularly on guitar and accordion with Leonie Felle and her band " Leonie singt ". So far, the four-piece music group has released two albums on the Munich independent label Gutfeeling Records .
