Hans Rummel
Hans Rummel (born September 13, 1872 in Lorsch ; † February 15, 1952 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German architect who stood out in the field of Catholic sacred architecture and worked mainly from Frankfurt am Main.
Life
Rummel attended the Bensheim trade school and then worked from 1890 to 1894 as a technician in the Blattner construction business in Frankfurt am Main. In 1894/1895 he did his military service as a one-year volunteer . From 1895 to 1898 he was employed in the office of the Frankfurt architect Wilhelm Müller (1854–1927). From 1898 to 1902 he completed his training by studying at the Technical University (Berlin-) Charlottenburg . As a student, he successfully took part in architecture competitions from 1901 and then worked independently in Frankfurt am Main.
A first known collaboration with his younger brother Christoph Rummel (1881–1961) is the joint competition entry for a preliminary design for the urban design of the Frankfurter Wiesen in Leipzig , which was awarded one of several 3rd prizes of 5,000 marks in 1912 . In addition to his own projects between 1901 and 1932, he worked primarily with Christoph Rummel between 1921 and 1945.
