Hansrödermühle is a district of the large district town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Tauber . Approx. The Bismarck monument is 300 meters to the west. The Taubertalweg leads past Kaiserstuhl to the Fuchsmühle (0.2 km north) or to the Lukasrödermühle (0.4 km east).

history

The wasteland was first mentioned by name in 1447 as "Neumühle". This mill is said to have originally been owned by the German Order , who is said to have sold it to the city of Rothenburg in 1336 for 54 pounds sterling. Since the 16th century, the mill has been called "Hans Rödermühle" after its owner. In the 18th century it was also called "Baumgartsmühle", probably also after its owner.

With the community edict (early 19th century), the place was assigned to the tax district and the municipal community of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

The Hansrödermühle was originally a grain mill. Before it was closed in 1958, it was used as a sawmill.
